About
This is how I continue despite suffering. My philosophy is whatever that is left, I must enrich.
John Roland Feruelo is a mouth painter based in Santa Fe, Romblon, Philippines.
Growing up, John wanted to serve The United States Navy. Sometime in 1989, he leaped with much joy upon knowing that he passed the initial screening for the US Navy, which was then based in Olongapo City, Zambales. Unfortunately, an accident happened the same year, at the age of 24, that paralized him. His cervical cord injury that he suffered confined him to a wheelchair for life. Despite this, John was certain that with God's help, he could overcome the insurmountable trials.
After meeting some members of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists in the Phlippines, he started to develop his creative skills in mouth painting. He first trained at Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, where he was admitted for rehabilitation and training. He allowed art to influence his life and fortify his self confidence as he enhanced his painting talent. Later, he was admitted as a scholar holder with AMFPA and trained further.
Through the years, John has participated with various art exhibitions across the country and abroad; including in Seattle, USA and Singapore. On 3 October, 2017, John was awarded by the Vice President of Taiwan in the INternational Artistic Creation Exhibition held in Taipei where he sold many of his paintings and developed numerous friends.
